Happy Halloween!

Halloween is well known as a favorite holiday of kids and adults everywhere, though I suspect it is especially a favorite of the Secondlife community which loves to play dress up with its barbie and ken dolls!

What do you wear as a "costume" when every day (sometimes several times a day) is a costume change in Secondlife?

In my case, I went with Betty the Zombie Ballet Dancer.  Think about it:  when the Zompocalypse comes, some ballet dancer, somewhere in the world, is going to be caught mid-pliĆ© and will be turned into a slavering, humanivorous (omnivorous?  carnivorous?) creature.

I'd imagine she will be more graceful than your average shambling hordeling.  Probably not by much.

I had all this in inventory already and had a good time mixing and matching from various locations in inventory.  Photos taken at Bentham Hollow, using a facelight and standard Bentham windlight settings.

Inspired Photography

Dirty Minded?
I love finding little niches in world that are oh so photogenic.  Even if it's trash bags and a dumpster.  Neutral Ground club (slurl here) is relatively new.  It seems that many of the staff there are refugees from the closing of the popular The Pit, formerly owned by Galathir of Sinful Needs.  The sim, owned by Athena Quinan, is undergoing some building but there is a dark carnival of goodies in the "club" area.

As it happens, I DJ there.  I really enjoyed the scene so much the other evening I was inspired to change my windlight settings (Doomed Spaceship) and park my kilted bottom next to some garbage to do it.  The theme for that event was cyberpunk.  I supposed I could have cybered it up a bit more but I was happy with how my outfit came out.  Hope you enjoy the picture!

The Mysterious Door

I can't help but peek behind curtains when wandering about Secondlife.  I am as curious as a cat without the tail paranoia.  One of my habits is to go back and regularly check the in-world stores of some of my favorite creators and designers.  Recently I stopped by the BC322 store.  Along the way I found three cute hairs, one was a L$1 gift item, that I snagged.  I was about to make my way into the Black Maria store/hair shop right next door when in the alley I noticed... a Mysterious Door.  I like to capitalize shit randomly.
Cute Hair from BC322 called EMO princess.
Tinted streaks are color change.

Given the aforementioned curiousity, I found myself walking down dark stairs and through a well of black shadow so deep I worried I might have arrived in Hell.  I was pleasantly surprised to land at the door of a club, hidden downstairs from the stores!  It appears to be completely public in access and it was such a perfect take on CBGB's and other popular NY clubs from back in the day.  The walls are covered with club and gig posters from every major punk band and the stage is outfitted for a performance!

It is a great place to snap photos and I highly recommend visiting it when you can.

It's Hunt Time!

I love a good hunt and the American Bazaar Hunt looks like it's going to be a good one.  There are even a few stores I haven't visited yet!  So make sure you get to American Bazaar and start the hunt there.  There are about 140 spots to search - guaranteed to keep you busy for a few evenings.

When I finish the Hunt, I plan to post a review of my favorite found objects.

Happy hunting!

Tune In (Neo) Tokyo

Detail and realistic textures make
for an impressive visual experience
Neo Tokyo is a meter-less roleplay sim developed by Edna Forsythe and her staff of creative crazies.  It's one of the more photogenic sims we have seen and since joining the group (yes we are roleplay nerds) we have been snapping candids daily.

Edna is a long-time roleplay friend of mine and she's always been working on some project or another.  When she told me about this new sim I was excited!  I love the idea of a meterless roleplay sim - in-character interactions and development takes place without the XP motivation.  I'd always preferred to RP my combat scenes anyway.

Bright color and neon strikes you from all sides
When asked to share a few thoughts about the Neo Tokyo project, Edna says, "I guess it's all about trying to give maximum immersion for roleplay and fun for people in general, I know alot of things are still in the works but I guess the real people to thank ain't me, it's the staff and you guys. I had an idea and all of ya made it happen. So for those who do wish to join, understand limitations are put in place so more things are worked and earned through actual roleplay! And be sure to know we got alot of big plans coming up to make this sim as epic as possible! ^.^"

Join the OOC and IC groups and get your starter package today.  One HUD is provided and it includes dice roller and a monetary function that works within the sim only.  The team has done a LOT of work getting this up and running and they continue to enhance the user experience daily.  For more information about Neo Tokyo, races, classes and other key information, visit the Wikia page.
